[26-01-2005] bmp-itouch-1.1.0 **Development Version**
This is the developmental version for the next version of bmp-itouch. The main plugin will now be seperated into two different plugins. The first plugin is for the main playing functions e.g. Play, Stop, Previous Track etc. The second plugin is for the other keys on the keyboard e.g. Calculator, Sleep etc. The seperation of the plugin will enable me to support more keys on the keyboard. Since the second plugin is not ready yet, the original plugin has also been included in this release so that you can still use your calulator functions etc while testing the new plugin. Be sure not to grab the keys with both plugins!. Also, note that keyboard selection is not supported in the new plugin yet. This will be added in the next release. In the meantime i hope you enjoy this new development version and do report any bugs you encountered to me. Thanks!

I finally got the 1.0 release out. Future releases for the 1.0 branch will be bugfixes only. I will begin work for the next version of the plugin soon. Enjoy this release!

[29-09-2004] bmp-itouch-0.1.4.3
This will be the last release before the 1.0 release. If there are no major show stopping bugs, expect the 1.0 release within the next week or so. I'm making a 1.0 release so that I can move on and start development of the next version of the plugin. The next version will support more buttons (found in new keyboards), make use of gconf to save all configurations and possibly make use of of the options in GNOME's keyboard shortcut capplet (if the user is using GNOME).. I'm still thinking of the design for the next user interface. Any mockups would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, enjoy this release.

My apologies for having so many releases in such a short time span. I've been trying to stabilise the autoconf and automake port from xmms-itouch. A big thanks to Tony Vroon for reporting this. This release should now build and install correctly.

Description
With this Beep Media Player plugin you can take advantage of the extra multimedia (playback and volume control) keys on your internet keyboard. You can even reconfigure the "Back", "Forward, etc. buttons on your keyboard to work with bmp-itouch just by having the plugin grab the key. Its that simple! When the plugin is used you can use the keys regardless of the current input focus. The plugin won't work if some other application (eg. xscreensaver) has grabbed the keyboard.

Credits
This plugin is based on the xmms-itouch plugin written by Ville Syrjälä. It has been ported to use the beep media player and the gtk2 toolkit.
